For the past 13 years (That is how long the shop will be in business this year) I have browsed  the internet , checking out all the nice fly fishing sites globally, never trying to launch my own website because of my techno disability. Until John Wassenaar  from Catfish Joe Productions convinced me to do it. Well here we are, let’s do it!..... Thanks John and Joe.
With this site which is still in his early stages we intend to keep our loyal existing and new clients informed about products  and venues we like. I will try to have at least a  once a month  write-up on either  a new product or a fly fishing venue we have visited. You guys are welcome to send us written contributions and photos of exiting venues visited by you, I will publish it on the website.
And then last but not least, this website must serve as a tracking system for my family to know where I am or going.....sometimes I forget to inform them of the minor details .
Well summer is here and I think we are going to have yet another fantastic yellow fish season in this region. We have already received reports of huge Smallmouth Yellows been landed in the Wilger river.
If you are in the Clarens area , give the the Townlands dam a try (Controlled by the Clarens Flyfishers Club). The dam was recently stocked and the fishing is good. Day tickets are available at R90,00 per rod and can be obtained from Clarens Xtreme A dventures.
We fished Katse Dam two weeks ago on kick boats. Although the fishing was on the slow side we manage to land a few nice rainbows and yellows.  The water levels on the dam and rivers are currently very low , but hopefully the rains will come soon. Katse is like a lucky packet, you never know what you are going to catch next, it can be either a yellow or a trout. Time constraints necessitated the use of  fast sinking lines with search patterns such as woolly buggers in different  colours (orange, peacock and olive). The peacock woolly bugger with blue flash (Speedcop) proofed to be the most productive pattern. We intend to concentrate more on Lesotho this season  which will last until March next year ,and will let you know of any hosted trips that are on offer.
